Program Information:
Experience two of the most dynamic, traditional, and modern industrial countries and cities of the world: Tokyo, Japan and Seoul, South Korea. On this unique multi-country program, you’ll live and learn in two neighboring yet distinct countries, regarded for their cuisine, pop culture, design, technology, and cultural heritage. Through multi-country excursions and insightful tours and classes, you can expect to meet locals, learn new languages and immerse in and compare cultures in Asia – the world’s most dynamic region.

Here are just a few of the program's many highlights to look forward to:
  • Study Japanese and Korean, or choose from a variety of subjects in English
  • The best of both worlds: serene campus settings with easy access to the vibrancy of Tokyo and Seoul
  • Abundant interactions with locals, between classes, clubs, and cultural activities
  • Exceptional support, including orientations, city tours, group meals, and support staff on- and off-campus
  • Unique insights and comparisons gleaned from a short but intensive experience
Academics:
Seisen University: (Tokyo, Japan)

Seisen University provides the perfect setting for summer study abroad participants: a serene hilltop campus that allows you to learn in peace with easy access to the hustle and bustle of central Tokyo. On campus, bilingual Japanese students and professors will enthusiastically welcome you. The program is designed to spark and deepen your interpersonal connections with local students. With an internationally focused curriculum, the students at Seisen are globally-minded and eager to learn from international students.

Kyung Hee University: (Seoul, South Korea)
Kyung Hee University is South Korea's top university for the study of history, politics, and culture. The natural beauty of the “campus within a park,” Neoclassical and gothic buildings that feel like they’ve been borrowed from Washington, D.C., exceptional on-campus amenities, and active student life create a pleasant environment for visiting students. To meet local students, join the cheering squad or the International Friends and Culture Club.

Highlights of Local Life:
  • Mt. Fuji: Ride the fastest Japanese train, the Shinkansen (Bullet Train) from Tokyo station to Shin Fuji station. At the station, you can see a dynamic view of Mt. Fuji. Climb up to the top of the mountain to see more amazing views of Japan. Take the Bullet train further to Kyoto city. Stay overnight in a Japanese inn, and walk around the ancient capital city.
Largest Fish Market in Japan: Be sure to go to Tsukiji Fish Market in Tokyo. It is the largest fish market in Japan. Try to get to the market at around 5:00am so you can watch the auction for freshly caught giant tuna fish. Enjoy the freshest sushi in the world! Have some famous ramen there too!
Visual & Performance Art: Take a selfie in the wildly colorful Ihwa Mural Village, a revitalized artist neighborhood adorned with murals and filled with galleries, cafes. After, check out these gems within walking distance: Lock Museum, Ihwa-dong Village Museum, and Blacksmith Museum.
Local Cultural Festivals: No shortage of celebration here! Seoul boasts the Lotus Lantern Festival, the Yeouido Spring Flower Festival, the Seoul International Fireworks Festival, and the Seoul Kimchi Making & Sharing Festival, among many more.
